Privacy Policy
PRIVACY NOTICE
This Policy explains what personal information Frenchies collects, where it comes from, how it is used and disclosed, how long it is retained, and the choices available to you. It applies to customers, website and app visitors, Washer applicants and active Washers, and people who contact Frenchies. Where consent is legally required, Frenchies will request it separately rather than relying on this Policy alone.
Frenchies LLC ("Frenchies," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Frenchies website, mobile application, communications, scheduling, payment, pickup, laundry processing, delivery, support, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Frenchies handles personal information in connection with the Platform. The Frenchies Customer Terms of Service govern customer use of the Platform. The Independent Washer Agreement and related onboarding materials may also apply to Washer applicants and active Washers. Nothing in this Policy limits a privacy right or remedy that applicable law does not permit to be waived.
The Platform is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, place an order, or perform services as a Washer.
1. Scope and Key Terms
This Policy applies to information collected online and offline through the Platform, order and delivery workflows, customer support, Washer recruiting and onboarding, payment and payout systems, safety and fraud-prevention processes, and related business operations.
"Personal Information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked to an individual or household. It does not include information that has been lawfully made public or information that has been de-identified so it cannot reasonably be linked to a person.
"Customer" means a person who creates an account, places or receives an order, communicates about an order, or otherwise uses customer-facing features. "Washer" means an applicant, prospective independent contractor, or active independent service provider who uses Frenchies recruiting, onboarding, dispatch, or service features. "Service Provider" means a vendor or contractor that processes information on behalf of Frenchies for a business or operational purpose.
2. Information We Collect
A. Contact, account, and profile information
name, email address, telephone number, mailing, pickup, delivery, or billing address; username, account identifiers, login credentials, profile photograph, preferences, and account settings; emergency contact information when provided for Washer safety or onboarding; and communications preferences and consent records.
B. Customer order and service information
order history, order number, pickup and delivery windows, bag counts, weight or load information, and service status; pickup and delivery instructions, access codes, building notes, authorized drop-off locations, and contact availability; detergent, fragrance, temperature, folding, handling, allergy, skin-sensitivity, or scent-sensitivity preferences; claims, refunds, rewashes, service credits, ratings, reviews, support requests, and dispute information; and photos of bags, tags, visible garment condition, delivery locations, completed handoffs, or other order documentation.
C. Washer applicant and contractor information
application responses, work history, availability, service area, references, interview notes, and onboarding progress; government-issued identification, age or eligibility confirmation, driver and vehicle information, insurance documentation, and required permits or credentials; home laundry equipment and work-environment information, including smoke, pet, sanitation, and capacity disclosures; training, certification, quality, attendance, acceptance, cancellation, incident, rating, coaching, suspension, and deactivation records; taxpayer, payout, banking, and payment information needed for contractor reporting and compensation; and identity verification or background-screening status when Frenchies uses such a process and provides any separate notices or authorizations required by law.
D. Payment and payout information
Customer payments and Washer payouts may be handled by third-party payment providers. Those providers may collect full card, bank-account, or taxpayer details directly. Frenchies typically receives limited information such as payment or payout status, transaction identifiers, tokenized credentials, billing ZIP code, last four digits, account type, refund status, and related fraud signals. Frenchies does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers in its ordinary systems.
E. Device, technical, usage, and location information
IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, device or advertising identifiers, app version, language, and time zone; pages or screens viewed, features used, links selected, session timing, referral source, crash reports, diagnostics, and performance data; approximate location derived from IP address or device settings; and precise location, route, arrival, pickup, delivery, or geofence information when location permission is enabled or an active order feature requires it.
F. Communications, content, and support information
emails, text messages, in-app messages, support chats, complaint or claim submissions, and other communications with Frenchies; content, photographs, reviews, documents, forms, and files uploaded or submitted through the Platform; and records showing delivery, receipt, acceptance, opt-in, opt-out, authentication, and customer or Washer support activity.
G. Sensitive information
Some information described above may be sensitive, including government identification, taxpayer information, precise location, account credentials, access codes, background-screening information, and allergy or sensitivity notes. Frenchies uses sensitive information only for reasonably necessary service, safety, payment, eligibility, fraud-prevention, legal, or administrative purposes. The Platform is not intended to receive medical records, protected health information, or unrelated sensitive personal details. Frenchies does not intentionally collect biometric identifiers unless a specific feature or identity-verification process separately explains the collection and obtains any consent required by law.
3. Sources of Information
Frenchies may collect personal information from: you directly through accounts, orders, applications, forms, messages, calls, emails, uploads, and support requests; your device or browser automatically when you use the Platform or enable device permissions; Customers and assigned Washers involved in the same order, claim, safety event, or support matter; payment, payout, identity-verification, screening, communications, mapping, hosting, analytics, security, and other Service Providers; referral partners, professional advisers, insurers, public records, or lawful government sources; and information we generate from service activity, such as order status, risk flags, quality metrics, or account history.
4. How We Use Information
Frenchies may use personal information to: create and manage accounts, applications, profiles, and permissions; schedule, assign, coordinate, process, document, and complete pickup, laundry, and delivery services; calculate prices, process payments and payouts, issue refunds or credits, and maintain financial and tax records; communicate about orders, applications, account activity, support, safety, policy updates, and service availability; authenticate users, verify identity and eligibility, prevent fraud, investigate chargebacks, and secure the Platform; review claims, complaints, incidents, delivery disputes, missing items, damage, or service quality; train, certify, support, coach, evaluate, suspend, or deactivate Washers under applicable agreements and policies; improve routing, scheduling, dispatch, capacity planning, customer experience, accessibility, reliability, and Platform functionality; perform analytics, testing, research, quality assurance, auditing, forecasting, and business planning; send promotional communications when permitted and honor opt-out choices; enforce agreements, protect users and property, respond to emergencies, and comply with legal obligations; and create aggregated or de-identified information for legitimate business, analytics, safety, and planning purposes.
Frenchies will not use personal information for a materially different purpose without providing additional notice or obtaining consent when required by law.
5. Location, Camera, Photos, and Device Permissions
The Platform may request access to location, camera, photo library, notifications, contacts, or other device features. The permission screen and your device settings control whether access is granted. Disabling a permission may prevent or limit features that depend on it.
Location information may be used to confirm service areas, route Washers, estimate arrival, document pickup and delivery, support safety, detect fraud, and investigate disputes. Precise or background location is collected only when the relevant feature is enabled and the corresponding device permission has been granted. Frenchies does not use order-location information for unrelated profiling or to infer sensitive characteristics.
Frenchies and assigned Washers may take operational photographs of laundry bags, order tags, visible garment condition, tote condition, pickup or delivery placement, and completed handoffs. When practical, operational photos should avoid capturing people, private interiors, unrelated documents, or other unnecessary personal details. Order documentation is not used in public marketing without separate permission.
6. Automated Tools and Artificial Intelligence
Frenchies may use rules-based systems, analytics, machine-learning tools, or artificial-intelligence-assisted features to support scheduling, dispatch, fraud detection, quality review, customer support, document processing, and Platform improvement. Frenchies does not intend to make a final decision that denies a claim, permanently deactivates a Washer, or otherwise produces a similarly significant effect solely through automated processing without reasonable human review, except for routine security or fraud controls that may temporarily restrict activity and can be reviewed through support. Frenchies does not use government identification, full payment credentials, private order photographs, or other personal information to train publicly available general-purpose artificial-intelligence models without separate notice and any permission required by law. Service Providers offering AI-assisted features must process information under applicable contracts and privacy obligations.
7. How We Disclose Information
Frenchies may disclose personal information as reasonably necessary to: assigned Washers or Customers participating in the same order, using only information needed to coordinate and complete service; payment and payout providers, hosting and cloud vendors, communications providers, mapping and routing providers, analytics vendors, identity or screening providers, support tools, security providers, and other Service Providers; insurers, accountants, attorneys, auditors, financing sources, and other professional advisers; law enforcement, regulators, courts, emergency responders, or other parties when Frenchies reasonably believes disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect safety, rights, property, or the integrity of the Platform; a buyer, investor, lender, successor, or adviser in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets; another party at your direction or with your permission; or recipients of aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.
Frenchies does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Frenchies does not currently disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If these practices materially change, Frenchies will update this Policy and provide any notice or choice required by law.
8. Independent Washers and Order Information
Assigned Washers may receive limited Customer information such as name, pickup or delivery location, telephone or in-app contact method, access instructions, order preferences, timing, and notes reasonably necessary to complete an accepted order. Customers may receive limited Washer information such as first name, profile information, vehicle or arrival details, order status, and communication needed for service.
Washers are subject to privacy, confidentiality, documentation, and acceptable-use obligations. They may not use Customer information for unrelated marketing, solicitation, social media, personal contact, or off-platform services, and may retain order information only as permitted by Frenchies policies, applicable agreements, and law. Because Washers are independent contractors, they may also have legal obligations concerning records they create or maintain independently. Frenchies requires compliance with Platform privacy rules but cannot control conduct wholly outside the Platform that was not authorized by Frenchies.
9. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies
Frenchies may use cookies, local storage, software development kits, pixels, logs, analytics tools, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, performance, diagnostics, fraud prevention, and understanding Platform use. You may control certain technologies through browser settings, device settings, mobile operating-system permissions, or consent controls made available through the Platform. Blocking essential technologies may prevent account login, checkout, security, or other core functions. Frenchies will provide additional notice or choices before materially expanding tracking for targeted advertising.
10. Communications and Marketing
Frenchies may send transactional or operational communications about orders, pickups, deliveries, payments, applications, account security, safety, support, policy changes, and service availability. These communications are part of providing the Platform and may continue while an account or active order exists.
Promotional email, text, push, or other marketing communications are sent only as permitted by law and may require separate consent. You may use an unsubscribe link, reply STOP to eligible promotional text messages, adjust notification settings, or contact Frenchies to opt out. Reply HELP to eligible text programs for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional or legally required communications.
11. Data Retention and Secure Disposal
Frenchies retains personal information for the period reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including providing services, maintaining accounts, processing payments and payouts, resolving claims, preventing fraud, supporting safety, meeting tax and accounting obligations, enforcing agreements, maintaining insurance and legal records, and preserving business continuity.
Retention periods vary by category and may depend on: whether an account, application, contractor relationship, or order remains active; the length of a claim, chargeback, investigation, dispute, insurance, or legal matter; tax, accounting, contractor-reporting, and financial recordkeeping requirements; fraud, security, safety, and abuse-prevention needs; applicable limitation periods and legal preservation duties; and backup, archival, and disaster-recovery cycles.
When personal information is no longer reasonably needed, Frenchies will delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it using measures appropriate to the sensitivity and format of the records. Information may remain in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten or deleted through ordinary cycles.
12. Security and Incident Response
Frenchies uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Depending on the system, these may include encrypted transmission, access controls, authentication, role-based permissions, logging, vendor review, secure configuration, backup procedures, personnel training, and incident-response measures. No system, transmission, or storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting account credentials, using secure devices, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access. Frenchies will investigate suspected incidents and provide legally required notices when a qualifying breach affects personal information.
13. Privacy Choices and Requests
Depending on applicable law and the information involved, you may request to: access or receive information about personal information associated with you; correct inaccurate account or profile information; delete certain personal information or close an account; withdraw a consent when processing depends on consent; opt out of promotional communications; change location, camera, notification, or other device permissions; or ask questions about retention, disclosures, or automated tools.
Submit a privacy request through available account controls or email hello@frenchyfresh.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." Frenchies may verify identity, request information needed to locate records, and deny or limit a request when permitted by law, including where retention is required for payments, taxes, fraud prevention, safety, claims, disputes, legal compliance, or the rights of others. Where applicable law allows an authorized agent to act for you, Frenchies may request proof of authorization and may verify your identity directly. Frenchies will not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising an applicable privacy right.
14. Children and Minors
Frenchies does not knowingly offer accounts or services to individuals under 18 and does not knowingly collect personal information from minors through the Platform. If Frenchies learns that personal information was collected from a minor without appropriate authorization, Frenchies will take reasonable steps to delete or restrict it. Contact hello@frenchyfresh.com if you believe a minor provided information to Frenchies.
15. Third-Party Services and Links
The Platform may connect to third-party payment, payout, mapping, app-store, authentication, communications, screening, analytics, cloud, support, or other services. Those third parties may collect information directly under their own terms and privacy policies. Frenchies is responsible for its own data practices and for selecting and managing Service Providers as required by law, but is not responsible for an unrelated third party's independent website, application, or practice.
16. Processing in Other Locations
Frenchies and its Service Providers may process or store information in Alaska, other U.S. states, or other locations where they operate. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between locations. Frenchies will use contractual, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the information and required by applicable law.
17. Business Transfers
Personal information may be reviewed, transferred, or disclosed in connection with an actual or proposed financing, investment, merger, acquisition, sale, reorganization, bankruptcy, or transfer of assets. A recipient that assumes control of personal information will be subject to this Policy or will provide notice of materially different practices as required by law.
18. Legal, Safety, and Compliance Disclosures
Frenchies may preserve, use, or disclose personal information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, court orders, tax or regulatory obligations, insurance requirements, or lawful government requests; enforce agreements and policies; investigate fraud, theft, abuse, harassment, chargebacks, or safety events; protect Frenchies, Customers, Washers, or others; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Frenchies may challenge or narrow a request when appropriate but cannot guarantee notice before a legally required disclosure.
19. Changes to This Policy
Frenchies may update this Policy as the Platform, vendors, technology, or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will be posted through the Platform. Frenchies will provide reasonable notice of material changes through email, in-app notice, website notice, or another appropriate channel before or when the changes take effect, unless immediate changes are reasonably necessary for security, safety, fraud prevention, operational continuity, or legal compliance. Where consent is required for a new use, Frenchies will request consent separately. Continued use after a revised Policy takes effect may acknowledge receipt of the revised notice but does not replace consent when the law requires a separate opt-in.
20. Relationship to Other Agreements
This Policy describes Frenchies data practices and is not intended to replace the Customer Terms of Service, Refund, Damage & Claims Policy, Independent Washer Agreement, or order-specific disclosures. Disputes relating to the Platform, including privacy disputes, are governed by the applicable dispute-resolution and governing-law provisions in the Customer Terms of Service or Independent Washer Agreement, as applicable. This Policy does not create a separate arbitration procedure.
